 Wayland-Cohocton and Geneseo are an even 5-5 against one another  since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Wayland-Cohocton Eagles will be playing at home against the Geneseo Blue Devils at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Wayland-Cohocton will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak  alive.
 Wayland-Cohocton will bounce into Wednesday's   contest after  beating Livonia, who they hadn't topped in nine consecutive meetings. Wayland-Cohocton had just enough and edged Livonia out  3-2.
  Matthew Clark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Markus Brehm was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing five bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen two or more in the last three games he's  played.
 Meanwhile, Geneseo made easy work of Le Roy  on Tuesday and carried off  an  11-1 win.
  Phillip Dotterweich made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Dotterweich was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Tyler Churchfield, who  went 3-for-4 with four  RBI, two  doubles,  and a  run. Another player making a difference was  Brady O'Brien, who  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 Wayland-Cohocton's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Geneseo, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wayland-Cohocton has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 6.7  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Geneseo struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 5.7. The only question left is which team can snag more.
 Everything went Wayland-Cohocton's way against Geneseo when the teams last played  back in April of 2023 as Wayland-Cohocton made off with  a  13-7 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Geneseo's  Ethan Bennett, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while going 4-for-4. Now that he won't be playing  on Wednesday, will it be that much easier for Wayland-Cohocton to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
