There's no place like home for Horizon Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against the Gompers Prep Academy Eagles on Tuesday as Horizon Prep made off with a 3-0 victory. The Lions not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26, 2024.

Horizon Prep's got stronger as the match went on, holding Gompers Prep Academy to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-16, 25-14.

Banning Salas paced Horizon Prep's offense, picking up 17 kills. Salas got some help from Colin Kaese and his 36 assists. Benjamin Lane controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Horizon Prep's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Gompers Prep Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Horizon Prep has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Mountain Empire on the 19th. As for Gompers Prep Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Hoover on the 20th.
