Soccer Game Preview: Terre Haute South Vigo vs. Columbus North

Terre Haute South Vigo hasn't had much luck against Columbus North recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Braves will look to defend their home pitch against the Bull Dogs at 1:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Terre Haute South Vigo turned things around against Indy Genesis HomeSchool on Thursday. They never let the Indy Genesis get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Mark Mimms had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Terre Haute South Vigo.

Meanwhile, Columbus North entered their contest against Bloomington South on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bull Dogs fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 1-0. The shutout was out of character for Columbus North seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Columbus North's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4-4. As for Terre Haute South Vigo, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Terre Haute South Vigo suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Columbus North in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Braves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
