Basketball Recap: McIntosh County Academy Comes Up Short

McIntosh County Academy played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 48-18 loss at the hands of the Screven County Gamecocks. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Gamecocks are ranked 166th).

McIntosh County Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Screven County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McIntosh County Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pierce County at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Screven County, they will take on Portal at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
