Baseball Recap: Winston Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Indianola Academy last Tuesday, Winston Academy came back down to earth. The Winston Academy Patriots fell just short of the Bayou Academy Colts by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled against the Colts recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Winston Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Goforth, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Winston Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Bayou Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winston Academy will take on Oak Hill Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Winston Academy is facing Oak Hill Academy at the right time seeing as Oak Hill Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bayou Academy, they will face off against Clarksdale at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
