Volleyball Recap: Waterford Wildcats vs. Eastern Eagles
Waterford had taken Eastern down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Eagles. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-19, 25-17.
Kendyl Johnson paced Waterford's offense, picking up 12 kills. Johnson got some help from Brooklyn Cooper and her 15 assists. Cira Ponchak controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Eastern found their leader in freshman Emeri Lloyd, who had 22 digs and four assists.
Waterford's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Eastern, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Waterford has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Frontier on the 23rd. As for Eastern, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Meigs on the 22nd.
