Recap: Frankfort Panthers vs. Great Crossing
The Frankfort Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 78-28 loss at the hands of Great Crossing. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Frankfort in their matchups with Great Crossing: they've now lost eight in a row.
Great Crossing got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Junius Burrell out in front who scored 14 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Vince Dawson, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Frankfort has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Great Crossing, they pushed their record up to 21-1 with that win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.
Frankfort will take on Rockcastle County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Rockcastle County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Frankfort in Kentucky (Rockcastle County is ranked 85th, while Frankfort is ranked 229th). As for Great Crossing, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lexington Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. Lexington Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
