Baseball Game Preview: Lynn Classical Rams vs. Malden Golden Tornados

The Lynn Classical Rams will challenge the Malden Golden Tornados at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Lynn Classical's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Saturday, when they got past Saugus' usually-dominant pitching crew. The Rams were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Sachems. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Lynn Classical got a massive performance out of Emerson Lara, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Lara has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Ronal Brea was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lynn Classical kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saugus only managed five hits.

Meanwhile, Malden waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 11-1 win. Considering the Golden Tornados have won five games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Malden pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lynn Classical, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
