Recap: Long County Blue Tide vs. Claxton Tigers
The Long County Blue Tide can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 47-29 win over Claxton. The victory was just what Long County needed coming off of a 47-27 defeat in their prior contest.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayda Jordan, who scored 12 points.
Long County's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11. As for Claxton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Long County is on the road again on Friday and plays the Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Calvary Day presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Blue Tide in Georgia (the Cavaliers are ranked 145th, while the Blue Tide are ranked 362nd). As for Claxton, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Emanuel County Institute is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Tigers a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
