Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Somerset

Somerset came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Osceola Chieftains 12-2. Considering the Spartans have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Izzy Johnson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Somerset was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .414 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Somerset's record is now 16-6. As for Osceola, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Somerset will have a chance to go back-to-back against Osceola: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
