Basketball Recap: Lexington Beats Chapin for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Lexington won the last time they faced Chapin, and Izzy Saville did her part to make sure it happened again. The Lexington Wildcats simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Chapin Eagles 68-37 thanks in part to Saville, who went 8 of 15 en route to 20 points. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Sydni Anderson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season. What's more, she also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reagan Haggard, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sami Stephenson, who posted six points.

The victory (which was Lexington's fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.8 points. As for Chapin, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-10.

Lexington will face off against Dutch Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lexington knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Dutch Fork likes a good challenge. As for Chapin, they are taking a road trip to challenge River Bluff at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chapin is facing River Bluff at the right time seeing as River Bluff is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
