Baseball Recap: Triangle Math & Science Comes Up Short

Triangle Math & Science had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-10 to make it 12. They came up short against the Chatham Charter Knights, falling 10-0. The Tigers were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Knights' pitcher proved too tough.

As for Chatham Charter, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-7. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Chatham Charter's part, Luke Johnson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Chatham Charter let Zach Cartrette and Tyner Williams run wild. Cartrette went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Williams went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits Williams has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Hunter Murphy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Triangle Math & Science does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chatham Charter, they will be playing at home against Clover Garden School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
