The Bethel Bees are taking a road trip to face off against the Tri-County North Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bethel will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Troy Christian on Thursday. The Bees blew past the Eagles 25-5. The Bees haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Addie Etherington made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Annabelle Adams was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Moore, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.
Bethel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Troy Christian only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, Tri-County North had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Arrows a 6-0 shutout.
Like Bethel, Tri-County North also got a great game from a two-way player: Kasidi Daugherty. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Daugherty was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gracie Hemp, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Bethel's record now sits at 4-6. As for Tri-County North, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Saturday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bethel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Tri-County North struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
