Baseball Game Preview: Hamilton Big Blue vs. Bishop Fenwick Falcons

The Hamilton Big Blue will head out to take on the Bishop Fenwick Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Hamilton is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Badin just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Big Blue have suffered since April 28th.

Hamilton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Payne, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Bishop Fenwick had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Eagles 3-1. The game was the first time the Falcons have beaten the Eagles on their field since May 11, 2021.

Bishop Fenwick pushed their record up to 7-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Hamilton, their loss dropped their record down to 13-13.

Hamilton took their victory against Bishop Fenwick when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-1 score. Will the Big Blue repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
