Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ava Gallo and Mia Maley Lead Mcdonald to Victory

McDonald had won four straight road games and Miley Titus did her part to make it five on Tuesday. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Memorial Red Devils 3-2 for which the team can thank Titus, who had 34 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 16 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day McDonald got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-22, 18-25, 25-19, 25-27, 15-12.

Leading McDonald to victory were Mia Maley and Ava Gallo. Maley had 12 digs, while Gallo had 11 kills, eight digs, and seven aces. That's the most digs Maley has posted since back in September.

They weren't the only good servers: McDonald was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive matches.

McDonald's record now sits at 17-3. As for Memorial, their defeat ended a nine-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-3.

McDonald has already played their next matchup (against Lowellville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Memorial, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against McKinley on the 8th.
