Baseball Recap: Maria Carrillo Has No Trouble Against Alameda

Maria Carrillo had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Alameda on Friday. Everything went the Maria Carrillo Pumas' way against the Alameda Hornets as the Maria Carrillo Pumas made off with a 13-7 win. This was payback for the Pumas, who suffered an 11-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jackson Hunt looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Charlie Toig was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Petersen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Maria Carrillo's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Alameda, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maria Carrillo will square off against Vintage at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Alameda, they will face off against Windsor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
