Softball Recap: Case Snaps 11-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If Case was feeling good fresh off their 17-5 takedown of Seekonk last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greater New Bedford RVT Bears on Wednesday. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Case saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lila Alvarez, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Alvarez also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Case's defeat ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2. As for Greater New Bedford RVT, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Case will square off against Middleborough at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greater New Bedford RVT, they will take on Old Rochester Regional at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
