Basketball Game Preview: Stratford Spartans vs. White House Blue Devils

The Stratford Spartans will head out to square off against the White House Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stratford will be strutting in after a victory while White House will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Stratford turned things around against McGavock on Monday. They took down the Raiders 50-33.

Stratford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joseph Campbell, who posted 15 points. Campbell is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrin Bailey, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, White House was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 60-54 to White House-Heritage. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while the Patriots are ranked 121st).

Stratford will need focus on slowing down Kenny Holt, one of several White House players who made an impact when they last played. He earned 13 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Holt a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Romeo Cantrell, who posted nine points and six steals.

White House's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Stratford, their win bumped their record up to 2-8.
