Baseball Recap: Calallen Extends Winning Streak to Four

With a playoff win on the line, Calallen rose to the challenge on Saturday. They skirted past the El Campo Ricebirds 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Drayton Mitchell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Calallen saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Lynch, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Drayson Gamez was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

Calallen pushed their record up to 30-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 16 runs. As for El Campo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-10-1.

As of now, neither Calallen nor the Ricebirds have any future games scheduled.
