Basketball Recap: Conecuh Springs Christian Starts Season with Win at Home

Conecuh Springs Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They snuck past the Grace Christian Crusader with a 41-37 victory. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 58-47 win the Crusader walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2020.

Several Crusader players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zechariah Griffith, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Thad Shuler, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 18 rebounds.

Grace Christian now has a losing record of 2-3.

Conecuh Springs Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Chilton Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Grace Christian, they will face off against Foundation Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
