Basketball Recap: Mason Comets vs. St. Xavier Bombers
Mason was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the St. Xavier Bombers, falling 64-29. The Comets lost against the Bombers in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 55-53 score last time.
Donovan Waleskowski had an outrageously good game for St. Xavier as he went 7 for 10 en route to 23 points. Luke Sorce was another key player, scoring 13 points.
Mason's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for St. Xavier, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Mason will be playing in front of their home fans against Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Xavier, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Chaminade Julienne Catholic at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday.
