Volleyball Recap: Harmony Longhorns vs. Cypress Creek Bears

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Harmony can now relate to. They came up short against the Cypress Creek Bears on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Longhorns haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Harmony was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-19, 25-21.

Brayden Buehler paced Harmony's offense, picking up 11 kills. Buehler got some help from Jameson Benken and his 23 assists. Finally, Sylus Cory kept Harmony's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Cypress Creek found their leader in sophomore Kidiel Maldonado, who had six digs and one block. Maldonado is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 23 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Harmony's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Cypress Creek, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Harmony does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cypress Creek, they will challenge Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
