Basketball Recap: Taylor Comes Up Short

Taylor has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Clinton Prairie Gophers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Titans have suffered since February 3, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Taylor lost on Thursday, don't look at Javionne Harris. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards. The contest was Harris' third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drey Mcclatchey, who posted ten points.

Taylor's loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Clinton Prairie, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Looking ahead, Taylor will challenge Frankton at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Taylor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season. As for Clinton Prairie, they will take on Rossville at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th.
