Basketball Game Preview: Beaufort Eagles vs. Bluffton Bobcats

Beaufort is 1-9 against Bluffton since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Beaufort Eagles will face off against the Bluffton Bobcats at 6:00 p.m.

On Friday, Beaufort ended up a good deal behind Ashley Ridge and lost 64-47. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Swamp Foxes are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Bluffton ended the year with a bang, routing Battery Creek 50-25 last Saturday. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Bluffton found their leader in sophomore Amirah Brown, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. Another player making a difference was EmmaKate McMahon, who posted ten points.

Bluffton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.3 points. As for Beaufort, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.

Beaufort took a serious blow against Bluffton in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 62-8. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Beaufort was down 33-7.
