Basketball Recap: Leading Edge Academy - GEC Takes a Loss

On Thursday, the Leading Edge Academy - GEC Spartans came up short against the Willcox Cowboys and fell 50-39.

Despite the loss, Leading Edge Academy - GEC still got an impressive performance from Corynn Foster, who went 10-for-17 on her way to 25 points. That was a full 64.1% of Leading Edge Academy - GEC's points, marking the third time in a row Foster has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shailey Imbert, who scored five points and six boards.

Maddie Bennett continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Willcox, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 20 rebounds. Those 20 boards gave Bennett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Ebert, who earned 16 points and three steals.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Willcox, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-7.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Willcox, they have already played their next match, a 59-34 loss against Arizona Lutheran Academy on the 17th.
