Basketball Game Preview: Avella Eagles vs. Carlynton Cougars

Avella is 1-6 against Carlynton since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Avella Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Carlynton Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Avella will bounce into Friday's game after beating West Greene, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Avella managed a 55-50 win over West Greene on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Carlynton posted their closest victory since January 3rd on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Brentwood out 55-53.

The win got Carlynton back to even at 2-2. As for Avella, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Avella suffered a grim 55-35 defeat to Carlynton in their previous matchup back in February. Can Avella avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
