It's playoff time, and Berkeley Prep had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Buccaneers have posted against the Hurricanes since March 10, 2022.

Parker Mitzel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. Mitzel was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joseph Troupe, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run was his first of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Berkeley Prep and bumps their season record up to 25-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-17.
