Cotopaxi won against Custer County last Wednesday with 50 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Cotopaxi Pirates beat the Springfield Longhorns by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 50-48. The victory was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won nine matchups in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cotopaxi to victory, but perhaps none more so than Terrance Evans, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Justin Howell was another key player, to rack up 17 points.

Springfield lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Colby Batterton, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards. Batterton is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Slayde Cohoon, who en route to 16 points and six steals.

Cotopaxi pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points over those games. As for Springfield, their record now sits at 8-11.

Cotopaxi has already played their next contest, a 46-45 loss against Lake County on the 22nd. As for Springfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-45 defeat against Swink on the 22nd.
