Cristo Rey will take on the Innovation Academy The Red Tailed Hawk at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Cristo Rey is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game dating back to last season on Sunday. They received a blow as they fell 52-34 to New Mission. The game marked Cristo Rey's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Innovation Academy ended up a good deal behind Prospect Hill Academy on Friday and lost 73-57. That's two games in a row now that the The Red Tailed Hawk have lost by exactly 16 points.

Cristo Rey will have to contain Bryce Kankam as he made an impact in Innovation Academy's last game. He dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 36.8% of Innovation Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Mason Francisco was another key player, putting up ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Innovation Academy and nudges their season record down to 1-11. As for Cristo Rey, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Cristo Rey lost to Innovation Academy on the road by a decisive 63-46 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Cristo Rey, Derrick Twum (who went 12 of 23 on his way to 26 points along with seven boards and three steals) won't be suiting up this time.
