Basketball Recap: Freeport Finds Playoff Glory Versus Walton

It's playoff time, and Freeport had no trouble coming through when it counted. They strolled past the Walton Braves with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 54-38. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 68-52 back in December of 2024.

Freeport was led to victory by Olyvia Snodgrass and Jasmine Miles. Snodgrass went 5 of 7 on her way to 15 points and seven rebounds, while Miles posted 14 points and eight boards. Miles has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Ludwig, who scored seven points and five rebounds.

Freeport's victory bumped their record up to 9-17. As for Walton, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-21 record this season.

Freeport will venture away from home to take on South Walton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in South Walton's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Freeport has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road. Walton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
