Basketball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

After flying high against Westwood last Tuesday, Mountain View came back down to earth. The Mountain View Toros fell 56-47 to the Red Mountain Mountain Lions on Friday. The Toros haven't had much luck with the Mountain Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Gage Lindsey went supernova for Red Mountain, going 9 of 10 en route to 20 points and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Travon Darby, who posted 14 points.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Red Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View will square off against Dobson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Red Mountain, they will take on Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mesa is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Red Mountain a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
