Softball Recap: California Military Institute Comes Up Short

California Military Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Temecula Prep Patriots, falling 19-1. The Rough Riders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

California Military Institute's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Temecula Prep, they moved to 2-8 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, California Military Institute will head out on the road to take on San Jacinto Valley Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rough Riders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Temecula Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Arroyo Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.73 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
