Basketball Game Preview: Marlboro Central Dukes vs. Spackenkill Spartans

The Marlboro Central Dukes will square off against the Spackenkill Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Marlboro Central against Pine Plains as the squad secured a 73-40 win. Given the Dukes' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 375th in New York, while the Bombers are ranked 865th in New York), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Spackenkill had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They beat the Hawks by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 70-57. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won three contests in a row.

The win got Marlboro Central back to even at 9-9. As for Spackenkill, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
