East beats Linden-McKinley for their third straight win

Recap: East Tigers vs. Linden-McKinley Panthers

The East Tigers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past Linden-McKinley 40-8 at home. The result was nothing new for East, who have now won four contests by 24 points or more so far this season.

Taizaun Burns continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 150 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, while also throwing for 150 yards and a touchdown on only 14 passes. Burns is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Darion Matlock, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.

East's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.6 points per game. As for Linden-McKinley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.

East will be playing at home against Licking Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Linden-McKinley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
