Baseball Recap: Madison Comprehensive Takes a Loss

Madison Comprehensive fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Galion on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-6. The Rams' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it eight in a row.

Ashton Taylor put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Taylor was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Taylor wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Julian Washington, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Bryce Braden also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Madison Comprehensive's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Galion, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Madison Comprehensive is taking a road trip to face off against Mansfield Senior at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Galion, they will take on Pleasant at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.1 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
