Basketball Game Preview: Irving vs. Summit Academy Eagles

Irving and the Summit Academy Eagles will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Irving is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Stuyvesant just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 44-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Peglegs. The loss was Irving's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Summit Academy also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Queens Metro by a score of 45-35.

Irving will need focus on slowing down Jhency Pabon, one of several Summit Academy players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Alana Rivers, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 19 rebounds.

Summit Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Irving, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
