Softball Recap: North Tahoe Takes a Loss

North Tahoe had lost 20 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-15 to make it 21. They came up short against the Silver Stage Nighthawks, falling 17-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lakers of the 15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Silver Stage, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-14. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the contest before.

For Silver Stage's part, Vivian Booth made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Booth has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.

In other batting news, Joselyn Fauyad was a standout: she got on base in two of her three plate appearances with seven stolen bases and three runs. Those seven stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Julieta Munoz was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

While North Tahoe had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
