 Hugoton has enjoyed a eight-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will  challenge the Colby Eagles on Monday. Hugoton will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  game than the last.
 Hugoton's pitching crew heads into the  contest  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Stanton County with a sharp  11-0 win.
 Meanwhile, Colby had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with  an   8-5  victory over the Bluejays.
  Cobin Curry tossed a big game,   striking out nine batters over  6.2 innings while giving up  four earned  (and one unearned) runs off   six  hits.
 At the plate,  Talon Wark was a standout: he scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last four games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Braxton Withington, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
 Hugoton's record now sits at 5-7. As for Colby, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with that  win, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Hugoton might still be hurting after the  11-3 defeat they got from Colby  when the teams last played  back in April of 2023. Thankfully for Hugoton,  Shane Puckett (who   struck out 11 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits (and only one walk)) won't be suiting up this time.
