5A Southern Idaho - Foothills Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Zyan Crockett Earns League's Top Spot

Starting off the list is Skyline's Zyan Crockett, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Crockett rushed for 78 yards on only nine carries, and also picked up 76 receiving yards. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023.

If the past is any indication, Crockett could be in store for another big game when he takes on Thunder Ridge on Friday. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Crockett saw the Titans), he picked up 104 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 37 yards.

Preston Gets a Boost from Perry in 48-20 Loss

Preston had to settle for second on Friday, but Carter Perry sure wasn't going down easily. Sugar-Salem had no answer to Perry as he threw for 291 yards and three touchdowns.

Preston's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5. Perry will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Century on Friday.

Jake Schumann Makes It Two for Preston

Keeping Perry company is Jake Schumann, a fellow Preston player. He picked up 124 receiving yards and a touchdown.

This season, Schumann has caught 8 touchdowns while averaging 80 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had one receiving touchdown.

Big Game from Garcia As Skyline Won 29-6

Carmyne Garcia put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in October of 2023 on Friday. He threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 46 yards.

For the season, Garcia has thrown 15 touchdowns while averaging 194.8 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 37.2 passer rating per game. This year he is averaging 121.52 passer rating.

Jagger Williams Makes Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Jagger Williams of Idaho Falls. Williams picked up 75 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Idaho Falls dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Williams and Idaho Falls will challenge Blackfoot at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
