Basketball Recap: Jordyn Meyer and Tristan Williams Secure Win for Laurel

Laurel had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 51-46 W against the Green Bulldogs. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Gators 's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 20th).

Leading Laurel to victory were Tristan Williams and Jordyn Meyer. Williams posted 13 points in addition to five boards and five steals, while Meyer put up 18 points. That's the most points Meyer has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cia Ferrante, who had six points.

Laurel's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Green, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laurel will take on Buchtel at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Green, they will face off against Magnificat at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Magnificat will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Green surely won't give up without a fight.
