Basketball Game Preview: Elevation Prep Academy Honey Badgers vs. NC GBB Academy National Eagles

The Elevation Prep Academy Honey Badgers and the NC GBB Academy National Eagles will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Elevation Prep Academy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Elevation Prep Academy might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Bull City Prep National an easy 78-57 victory. While losing is never fun, the Honey Badgers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 559th, while the Bulls are ranked 16th).

Despite their defeat, Elevation Prep Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. CALEB NAPIER, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 13 points in addition to five boards and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of DEMARCUS RICHARDSON, who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Elevation Prep Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, NC GBB Academy National came up short against Cannon two weeks ago and fell 90-79. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game back in November (59), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

NC GBB Academy National's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Elevation Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Elevation Prep Academy suffered a grim 89-69 defeat to NC GBB Academy National in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Elevation Prep Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
