Metamora and Canton pushed the score to 8-1 the last time they played Canton, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Redbirds came out on top against the Little Giants by a score of 2-0. Given Metamora's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Canton are ranked 389th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jacob Crotz was the driving force of Metamora's attack as he scored both of Metamora's goals, bringing his season total up to five goals.

Metamora's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 3-3-3. As for Canton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
