Carl Hayden Community waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 74-72 victory over the Mesquite Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted since February 1, 2024.

Mesquite's loss came despite strong showings from Kobe Bradley and Marcus Ward. Bradley went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 22 points, while Ward went 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points and seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Crew Jorde, who posted seven points and three steals.

Carl Hayden Community has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Mesquite, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Carl Hayden Community will face off against Alhambra at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mesquite, they will challenge Saguaro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saguaro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 72.7 points per game this season.
