Softball Preview: Concord Spiders vs. Northwest Cabarrus Trojans        
        
		
            Concord is 1-9 against Northwest Cabarrus since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Tuesday. The Spiders will host the Trojans  at 5:00  p.m.
On Thursday, Concord came up short against Carson  and fell  6-1.
Meanwhile, Northwest Cabarrus had to endure  a  five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Robinson with a sharp  17-4 victory on Thursday.
Northwest Cabarrus got a  massive  performance out of  Isabella Ellis, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI. That's the most  RBI  Ellis has posted since back in February.  Molly Hatley was another key player,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 Northwest Cabarrus was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .435. They are 4-2 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
 Concord's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Northwest Cabarrus, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
Concord's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's   game. The Spiders have been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 2.8  stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Northwest Cabarrus, though, as  they've been averaging  only 0.7  stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Concord continue to outrun the ball?
 Concord was able to grind out a solid  victory over Northwest Cabarrus when the teams last played  back in March, winning  8-3. Do  the Spiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
