Preview: Springstead Eagles vs. Land O' Lakes Gators
Springstead has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Land O' Lakes Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Land O' Lakes took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Springstead, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Springstead strolled past Hernando with points to spare, taking the game 28-13.
Connor Mccazzio continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 205 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Mccazzio was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards.
Meanwhile, Land O' Lakes' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 29-17 to Nature Coast Tech.
Springstead is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Land O' Lakes, they have fallen quite a ways from their 9-2 record last season and are now at 2-4.
Springstead beat Land O' Lakes 27-17 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Springstead since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
