Volleyball Recap: Lee Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Lee had lost 13 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 0-2 to make it 14. They lost 3-0 to the Gate City Blue Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Generals of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Gate City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 10, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gate City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophie Webb, who had 18 assists. Webb has been hot, having posted 18 or more assists the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Nidiffer, who had six kills and three blocks.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lee is set to challenge their familiar foe John Battle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gate City will take on rival Ridgeview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
