Baseball Recap: Pulaski County Maroons vs. Boyle County Rebels

After a string of six wins, Pulaski County's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boyle County Rebels. Pulaski County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Boyle County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Pulaski County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Todd, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with a home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mason Acton, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

On Boyle County's side, Josh Cool tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Keenan Stewart was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Sage Dawson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Pulaski County's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-7. As for Boyle County, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.

Pulaski County will head out on the road to square off against South Laurel at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Boyle County, they will be playing at home against Casey County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Boyle County is facing Casey County at the right time seeing as Casey County is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
