The Perrydale Pirates will take on the Western Christian Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Perrydale's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Western Christian has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
Perrydale is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 26-10 margin over Colton on Friday. Considering the Pirates have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Sophie Jackson, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs, six RBI, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Barcroft, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Perrydale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .875. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .511 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Western Christian lost 19-6 to Country Christian on Friday.
Western Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ariah Dolyniuk, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Perrydale's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Western Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
Western Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Perrydale has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13 hits per game. It's a different story for Western Christian, though, as they've been averaging 10.3 hits. Given Perrydale's sizable advantage in that area, the Pioneers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Perrydale took their victory against Western Christian in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 25-4 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
