Softball Recap: Crestview Bulldogs vs. South Walton Seahawks

Crestview won the last time they faced South Walton and things went their way on Thursday too. The Crestview Bulldogs walked away with a 9-6 win over the South Walton Seahawks.

Ava Secor was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in home runs. Taeia Schriner also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Secor wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Crestview lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Crestview is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. South Walton now has a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crestview will challenge Pace at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Walton, they will face off against Jay at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Jay will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something South Walton surely won't give up without a fight.
