Basketball Game Preview: Foard Tigers vs. Hibriten Panthers

The Foard Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Hibriten Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Foard not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since January 28th (when they won 62-16). They put the hurt on St. Stephens with a sharp 50-27 victory. The Tigers pushed the score to 44-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Indians cut but never quite recovered from.

Jessica Bailey went supernova, shooting 7-for-12 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. The game was her third in a row with at least 17 points. Addy Lael was another key player, going 5-for-12 to rack up 10 points along with eight boards and five steals.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Hibriten against Ashe County on Monday as the team secured a 57-19 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won four in a row.

Foard better keep an eye on Aamori Patterson. She was instrumental in Hibriten's win, shooting 62% from the field en route to 26 points and six steals. Patterson is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emilee Cook, who posted 13 points.

The win got Foard back to even at 1-1. As for Hibriten, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Foard might still be hurting after the 67-44 defeat they got from Hibriten in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Patterson, who went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc on her way to 27 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.
